Lake Saputara is very attractive. Around the lake are hotels, theatres, boathouses and museums. Tourists can go boating here. This lake is known as the picnic spot of Saputara. Walking around the lake is a joy. The region is also very famous for mountaineers as the pleasure of trekking around the lake is heavenly. Hathgarh Fort, Pandava Caves and areas from Rajat Pratap to Tridhara are best for mountaineers. Dang district has dense forest area. In ancient times this region was known as Dandakaranya. Ramayana mentions the 14-year exile period of Shri Ram. Out of these 14 years of exile, Sri Rama spent 11 years in this forest with Sita and Lakshmana. This densely forested area is known as Sitavan. As Sri Rama lived in Dandakaranya during the Ramayana period, the Pandavas lived in caves in this forest region during the Dwaparayuga period of ignorance. These caves are known as Pandava Caves.
Along with the lakes, Saputara has many other places of interest, such as Girimal Falls, Dang Durbar, Hathgarh Fort, Saptashrungi Devi Temple and Shabridham are situated around 50 to 100 km.

By road: Waghai city 51 km. away. Ahmedabad: 409 km away. Surat: 164 km away. Mumbai: 250 km away. Vadodara: 309 km away. State transport buses and private luxury coaches are available from Waghai and Ahmedabad. If you are coming with a private car, the national highway is faster than the national highway, but the state highway can offer a stunningly scenic drive.
By Rail: The nearest railway station is Waghai on the Bilimora-Vaghai narrow gauge section of the Western Railway. For those coming via Surat or Ahmedabad or Mumbai to Gujarat, Bilimora is the most convenient railway station, and a direct bus service is available.
