Somnath Veraval
One of the most significant spiritual destinations in the Sanatani Hindu circuit is the Somnath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple receives a lot of visitors each year and is thought to be the first of the 12 jyotirlingas (devotional temples of Lord Shiva) in the nation.
When its ruins revealed a historic Hindu temple being converted into an Islamic mosque in the late 19th and early 20th century, the Somnath temple was avidly investigated by colonial era historians and archaeologists. These ruins were destroyed after India gained its independence, and the current Somnath temple was built in the Mru-Gurjara style typical of Hindu temple construction. The first Home Minister of India, Vallabhbhai Patel, gave the go-ahead for the renovation of the modern Somnath temple, which was finished in May 1951 following his passing.
Somanth Temple is the center of Hindu Sanatan faith (astha) and every year lakhs of people visit Somnath.
Bhalka Teerth and Dehotsarg as well as Triveni Sangam where Hiran, Kapila and Saraswati meets before entering into Arabian Sea are nearby must see spots.
